“As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.” – Joshua 5:1
The Lord can use our stories of grace to soften the hearts of unbelievers. Sharing your story is a great evangelizing tool.
I am not the best at sharing the Gospel. I get tongue-tied and worried I will say the wrong thing or say a verse that actually doesn’t exist. I think a lot of the time we think it’s our responsibility to convert people. But God doesn’t work that way. Accepting Christ is a personal choice between that person and God. Nothing you say can make them make that decision. However, God can use our stories and our testimonies to soften hardened hearts. A great way to start sharing the Gospel with someone is sharing how the Gospel has directly affected and changed your life. Verses are important and detailed theological explanations can be impressive, but the change we’ve seen in our own lives are impossible to argue against. Just like God used the story of the Isrealites to soften the hearts of their enemies, he can use yours too.
